I posted a thread asking for help for my 2nd build and you guys were super helpful as always. Pulled the trigger on the body and will acquire the rest of the parts soon, stay tuned :). The body is alder on alder, black to clear burst satin. Album: http://imgur.com/a/zkFA4

The finish looks and feels better than almost any satin guitar I've handled, kudos to Warmoth for developing this finish.

I'll be interested to see whether or not it leaves many finger marks, especially the burst part.

Absolutely gorgeous. Binding should be a requirement on all guitars.

It doesn't. I've had one of theirs here, and it's one of the nicest satin finishes I've seen on a guitar. Most satin finishes mark up very easily, even just lightly dragging the backs of your nails across it will leave shiny streaks, not to mention what picks will do. Then, after a while you have entire areas that are shiny. Not this stuff. No streaks, scuffs, prints, shiny spots... nothing. I've never wanted a satin finish on a guitar until now.

That's actually amazing...that bodes well for my "planned" first build of Satin Copper.

I get the impression that rather than a surface property, it's the finish material itself that you couldn't make shiny even if you wanted to. Like, if you buffed the hell out of it, it would just get thinner instead of glossy. So, barring unforseen circumstances, that beautiful soloist at the top of the thread is gonna keep looking that beautiful.

Super nice. And HSH pickup combo plus a whammy. That smells definitely of Steve Vai :headbanging:

I moved to a small apartment and just wanted to have one guitar that can do it all. Unfortunately I had to leave all my gear behind, including my first Warmoth guitar :(.

Zebra pickups was definitely the right choice! Two DiMarzio Air Classics and an Area 67 in the middle.

I'm normally not a big fan of zebra coils, but that looks perfect!

Maybe see what it looks like with the two humbuckers turned around so there's a sort of burst effect to the coil coloring as well?

I didn't think of doing it this way. The pickups look closer to each other, not sure which one I like better!

I don't know, either. I thought maybe it would complement the flow of the finish, but it doesn't really do that.

I like it better with the white to the center. For me, it does compliment the burst. Of course, either way they look fine.

I like the first option better. From a distance or if you squint, the black coils isn't that visible and it makes it look like a Strat with the cream single coils. Rather nice I think.

This is exactly my thinking, it just looks more properly spaced that way.
