Soldering iron

Tonar's right - that's a good iron, well-suited to guitar wiring. I can't tell what tip is on it from the picture, but you want a narrow chisel tip. Conical pointed tips cool off too easily from the heatsink effect of the parts you're soldering and you'll make a lot of solder balls with one, as well as overheat the part waiting for the tip and part to get hot enough for solder to flow.

Also, you're going to want a solder sucker. They're indispensable. Best place to get them that I've seen recently is Parts Express. One of these...

is only $4.

+1 on that solder sucker too. You just arm it, then when you need to dispose of the old solder, hover it above where the iron is warming it up - one hit of a button and it's gone!  :icon_thumright:

Actually, it's a teflon tip, so you can put it right on the solder joint once it's molten and get it all in one shot. It'll eventually melt a bit, but it takes a while and tips are cheap. In fact, I'd buy two or three with the sucker so you don't get raped on shipping charges later.
