As does the Cabronita-style pickguard.  Frankly, it looks a bit like a Les Paul that got left out in the sun and melted a bit.

So, no - it's not new.

This one isn't carved top or set neck. Now the concept....that's not new. Been around since the 70's as far as I'm aware. This particular execution does seem to be new though. I've not seen this offered from Fender before.
