Snow White Stratocaster

Hey all.

I've been reading and lurking for awhile now, so I figured it was time to share my latest build. (And thanks for all the help  I've gotten by reading here BTW!)

This is my third Warmoth build and it couldn't have come out better. The quality is far better than both my Fender and Charvel guitars and is easily worth twice what I've put into it. I'm having a hard time putting it down. So much so, that my wife dubbed it Snow White and any time I'm playing she says 'You spend too much time with HER!" in her best pouty-face voice... LOL

Here's the specs:

Strat Body:
- S-S-S with standard control configuration - Rear Routed
- Alpine White
- Heel Contour
- Recessed Schaller Floyd Rout
- 5/8" Side Jack

Neck:
- Birdseye Neck - Birdseye Fretboard
- Wizard Contour
- 1 11/16" Wide at Nut
- Stainless Steel 6230 Fretwire
- Clear Satin
- Floyd Rose Locking Nut - R3 in Black

Bridge:
- Schaller Floyd in Black

Tuners:
- Gotoh SG38 in Black

Pick-Ups:
- Neck: Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound for Strat
- Middle: Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound for Strat
- Bridge: Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound for Strat

Controls:
- position 1: 500K Volume
- position 2: Master Tone
- position 3: 500K Blender
- Standard 5-position Selector Switch


It plays like a dream, has warm rich and clear tone, screams when you push the volume all the way up and it's perfectly balanced. It's my main guitar now. The other two never even see the light of day.

Very nice.  I'm currently in the process of building one very similar, except for it is a hardtail and will have EMG 81/85 humbuckers.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. I really was going for something very clean and the older Charvels with the black hardware always appealed to me, so when I saw this one in the Showcase, I knew it would work out well.

White is my favorite color for guitars too XVD. My first Warmoth was a white strat as well. They just come out so clean.

I love my Cyber Deluxe Drex. So many cool sounds out of it that I've pretty much scrapped all of my pedals, with the exception of my CryBaby Wah. I'm currently using it as my main amp and pumping the stereo output to a 4x12 cab that I set a bit away from the amp on stage. We mic the 12 in the combo and it sounds huge from the floor that way. I'll work on getting you a clip pretty soon, I just need to figure out Cubase first!  LOL

which output are you using to power a 4x12 - and how exactly are you doing it? I wouldn't think the line level outs would be enough to power a cab. I know the expander is made to work with another amp.

I had a cable made that has two 1/4 inch jacks going to a single 1/8 inch stereo jack - I use that to record on my computer. Works pretty well

Hey Drex.

I run the expander into a small (50 watt, I think) power amp. It's an old Peavey something or other that a friend of a friend wanted to get rid of. It's enough to drive the cab, but the level isn't what you'd get running into another 100 watt head. But because I'm running the Cyber through the PA, I just use it to thicken the sound a bit. I'd really love to get ahold of one of the Fender Cyber Twin 100 watt heads. That would solve a lot of my problems, but the budget for new toys has been locked down for awhile. I think you know how that goes...

My recording setup is from the stereo outputs on the back of the Cyber into a Lexicon Omega. From there I run through the USB connection into my music station. I'm using Cubase LE (the freeware version that came with the Omega) for recording. It's good enough for the basic recording and sampling that I do at home, but I'm thinking about ditching Cubase in favor of Cakewalk or Pro Tools since I'm not really sold on the Cubase UI.

Crow, I'm assuming you're talking about the Lexicon Omega. I think I paid $350 or so from 8th Street Music (the online store). Here's a link to the Omega. Sucks 'cuz I see they've got it on sale now...
