So this may sound like a stupid question, but being a newcomer I heard that Warmouth builds it's necks based on fender necks or something like that. And then I heard that some fender necks will not fit an affinity stratocaster.

So here's the problem

I wanna buy a warmouth snakehead neck for an affinity stratocaster I'm customizing, but will the snakehead neck fit the affinity body?

Ohh look! A guitar question I can actually answer (sort of)

Measure the pocket dimensions (and also the distance between the bridge and the pocket so you know if it will intonate correctly). Look at the "Will it fit my guitar" page here:
http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Necks/faq2.aspx

You can ask the sales guys about it at sales@warmoth.com

I think they keep a (not complete, but pretty decent) list of known incompatibilities.

Not the worst answer from a sax guy :)

Snakehead necks share the same heel as a total Vintage Tele neck and has 21 frets so it will be different from the more rounded Strat heel neck pocket.  Though the scale length may be the same, there will be a small gap between the end of the neck fretboard and the end of the neck pocket (e.g. putting a square block into a round cavity).  Usually the extended 22nd fret will hide this but in this case, there is no extended fretboard to achieve this.

Most important line from mrzonules link above:

"Telecaster® necks will not intonate on a Strat® body without neck pocket modification."
