Stew Mac have discontinued Slipstone nuts...

Please help me to persuade them to reintroduce them, by sending them an email.

If any of you guys have any Slipstone blanks, I would be more than happy to buy them.
I will pay double the original price!

I'm with you. It really is the best nut material I've encountered.

But I was thinking to find out where to get the material from. It's made from/by Delrin - so maybe there is a way to get the raw material and cut from.

I got some in stock that I keep for my future projects. I'm even thinking about stripping the Slip Stone nuts from the guitars that I'm selling and replacing them with Graph Tech or whatever ...

Why is it better than bone? I'm slowly converting all my guitars to bone nuts now that I'm confident in shaping them, and I really like them despite the nasty smell and slow filing (which helps me make fewer mistakes).

Bone - requires lube, can have flaws (cracks, voids), tone varies from piece to piece. (Can look very nice though...)

Slipstone - low friction, always consistant tone, low wear rate.

These observations based on many (could be about 1000) bone, Graphtech, Slipstone, Tusq etc nuts I have fitted.

Looks McMaster-Carr carries it in various shapes and sizes.

I've found some Delrin blocks in my workshop that I used to make into Slip-stone nuts. If anyone is interested:

I'd take you up on 10 of them, but shipping is being charged individually on each part. $25 shipping on a couple ounces of .125" x .333" x 2" Delrin sticks seems a bit steep, don't you think?
