I wonder how a short piece of copper pipe from the plumbing scrap bucket would sound? Nickel/silver frets are mostly copper; a copper slide might be a Good Thing.

Never thought about copper, might be too soft as aluminum. Aluminum sounds good but the strings shred it up, beryllium copper my be better, it's quite harder than regular copper..

Yeah, it might shred it up a bit, but you can get 10' of 3/4" copper pipe for what, $15? Should be enough 40+ slides. Put 'em in a bucket next to you on stage, and throw 'em at unruly audience members  :laughing7:
