Site Slowdown

It seemed like everything was back to normal, but then it seized twice while attempting to make this comment
 
Hey everybody....we are aware of the slowness issues and are working to fix them. Hang in there, things will be better soon.

Seems to be OK again to me logging in both from my home (in Japan) and my corporate gateway (in the US).

Actually I'm in Japan, but when I login from my office it gets routed through our corporate gateway located in the US.
 
Some additional site maintenance was run by the webmasters, so it may be better now. It seems to be running a bit healthier after a brief outage.
 
No. If anything, it's worse.

I hope you guys aren't going to some external siting/management group. They're notoriously awful and cost way too much money. Then, the hit on your customer friendliness rating is not good. You can easily ruin a hard-won community and lose brand loyalty by making the site miserable to participate on. If you're interested in quality, you're much better off with your own server and admin than most of the "services" out there. They tell a good story, but the reality is often quite different.

 
It's been slow today for me from Europe.  A few times I could not get onto the site, and it was a little slow just now.

Edit seems a lot quicker now than earlier.
 
I've gotten multiple site timeout error messages tonight.  Just getting to the last page of this thread & posting this message has already taken over 5 minutes.
 
I know they are working on the site.

But I could've built a guitar in the waiting time, going from page to page.    :laughing7:
