I'm still playing around with the PU's on my Ibanez and I want to do a quick connection of a 2 conductor humbucker straight  to the Jack. The hot and ground straight to the tip and ring of the ring are obvious.

Do I just connect the Bridge to the same ground as the output of the HB? I was thinking of just a quick solder to the braid somewhere along it's length. Not sure where else I would ground it since there will be no switch, or pots to ground it to.

I always run the bridge ground direct to the output jack. Don't know why I just do !!

Just needs to be grounded somewhere.

You can ground it to the braid or the output jack. Doesn't matter as long as it's grounded so it doesn't act like an antenna. If you're just experimenting with the pickup, you might be able to get away with not grounding the bridge at all. It's not necessary for the system to work; it's a noise control thing.

Thanks for the info. What confused me was I had read places where it said to just connect signal and ground to the output jack. Cagey's post cleared up why that might have been the case. And yeah I am just experimenting with the PU before sending both of the PU's back to GFS for an exchange.
