Single coil in a humbucker route?

For reference, I'm designing my guitar body and the routings in Warmoth's editor.
Planning on using a "SD Tele vintage stack (single coil)" in the neck position, but might want to switch to a humbucker later, so should I just choose a humbucker routing that way I can do both? I'm pretty sure I should (I'm mainly asking because I don't want to run into any problems later, so I figured I'd triple check). I'll be using a pickguard, so if I keep the single coil it's not like I'll see the humbucker routing.

If you are going to use pickguard mounting you should have no issues doing that.

I was gonna throw the "universal" pickup rout in the ring, assuming it's about a Telecaster body, but you didn't specify which body you're thinking about.

So, which body are you thinking about?

If it's a Telecaster, I'd go with the universal neck pickup rout as it's designed to fit most pickups.

Universal was a great addition to top route Teles. No more over routing and basically anything fits as long as you are using a Pickguard. You do lose the vintage look suspending the covered neck from the guard but I prefer being able to adjust height without removing the Pickguard anyway.

This is the exact reason why I'm glad I asked lol. I completely overlooked the universal routing, thanks! It is indeed a tele body
