Single coil Damage ?

I purchased a new Fender single and noticed the coil wires aren’t consistently snug as you would expect from the custom shop. Basically there’s a wrap of the wire that’s actually loose from the coil but seated to the bobbin/Flatwork with the wax/potting. It reads as the proper resistance but does anybody think this is a sign the pickup isn’t up to quality and should be exchanged?

Appreciate the help! (Currently learning more about single coil anatomy)

I think it's probably fine.  It's protected in the bridge, and one coil loose will not change the tone of a pickup that has hundreds of windings on it.  If you're worried about the loose wire catching on something you can always tape it with some cloth (gaffers) tape.

Thanks for the feedback, I went ahead and looked at other custom shop pickups I had and this really doesn't look good for a brand new pickup. It also reads a little lower than the range the pickup is spec'd out to be. So I returned it!
