Showcase shows "routing"

Hello!
I was just looking at some beauties at the Showcase and while I was choosing which routing I'd choose I thought that would be cool if it appeared a black draw of the route on the picture...
To people have an idea... decide how much would cover the wood, etc...

I imagine that it would be a lot of work, if it's possible to do so, I have no idea, to be true... But would be really cool!

It does in the builder but I think doing it in the showcase would be a tough endeavor.

No kidding, they would have to individually size and place the routes on the pic for each body, and even then it would be faulty.

Maybe, just maybe, a little not so abstract spacial visualization is required by the customer.  Between showing unique choice tops, having an interactive builder for their 2 most popular body styles, they do quite a lot.

If I were doing the photos. I think I'd have long ago built a light box for guitars with a fixed camera mount.

Padded rest with index pins for neck holes to hold the guitar up off the backdrop. Maybe even dedicate an appropriate length prime from the KEH "bargain" (aka EBAY LNIB) bin.

Something you can run with your eyes closed on Monday mornings. It has the added benefit of making our photoshop/gimp mashups easier, but thats not gonna sell it to their photog

Seems pretty simple to me. They would just have to work on photographic consistency. They could lay every body down on a mat that marks proper placement under a tripod-mounted camera. You would need a mat for each body type, of course, but not every body needs to be photographed that way. Only the bodies with very nice tops, that are left unrouted.

Sounds like a can of fang-equipped aids-infected muscle-bound psychotic worms to me, so I'm not going to hold my breath while waiting for it to happen. I'm sure I'd suffocate.

I can't see what'd be in it for them. A buttload of hassle for no return, really. Just imagine what it'll look like, surely?

Does anyone really have trouble visualizing a pickup route?

Not really. Before dark, you just look for an overabundance of party stores, pawn shops and check cashing joints. After dark, the pickups are all over the place. Don't have to visualize anything.
