Should I tru oil a goncalo neck & fingerboard?

I just bought this amazing goncalo neck. The tiger stripe should go nicely with the bengal burst quilt maple and swamp ash strat body I custom ordered. I know a lot of people like goncalo because it doesn't require a finish. But I am considering using tru oil to bring out the beauty of the wood. Or maybe using tru oil on the back and head stock with just lemon oil on the fingerboard. Any opinions on this?

Love that bengal burst....

I would polish it out Raw, I think Cagey has a thread on it somewhere.

Micro mesh pads are great for this.

I have done tru oil on maple,  but would give the technique above a try for your neck first.

If you still really wanted to add tru oil, just one light coat would probably do but it isn't needed on Goncalo.

I definitely would not put tru oil on the fingerboard. Probably giving it a rub with a cloth would be enough.

Formby's Lemon Oil is nice ... not a finish ... just a conditioner.

A light rub with some Formby's on the fret board might be nice and also wouldn't hurt the neck.
I use it as a fretboard conditioner and have also used it on the back and head stock of a padouk neck and it soaks
right in and then I just rub a bit with an absorbent cloth and it's gone.

Micro mesh pads are on their way! Thanks to everyone for your recommendations!
