I just scored a USA Select Series King V II about an hour ago!  It's nearly flawless.

I hit the music store for some strings, and there it was.  The store is going out of business, and the owner said he got it as a trade on an $1800 banjo.  Apparently, the guy's wife told him he was gonna have to get rid of something, so off went the V.

Anyway, I cringed as I called my wife, but she told me to go ahead with the buy, so I did.  It's nearly PRISTINE.  It came with the inspection tag, warranty tag, hardshell case and key, and obviously the tremolo bar.

I'm not posting this in the F/S section, because technically, it isn't F/S, but I will entertain offers.  Vs really aren't my thing, as they're not good for anything but standing up.  My Jackson "dream guitar" is a USA Select Series Warrior, not a King V II.  Due to it really not being what I want, I'm really not emotionally attached to the guitar, but I'll be honest, if nobody wants it, it ain't like I'm going to cry about being the owner of a USA Select Series King V II.

Anyway, I'll be posting some pics to share later!

Awesome!  Probably my favourite Jackson style (assuming the headstock isn't reversed)

I'm ready for some pictures!

Sweet, I've never got the ok to buy a guitar, I just do it...Then take the crap later....

It's a lot easier to ask for forgiveness than permission <grin>

When i played guitar for a brief spell before finding the low growly hallowed halls of 4 strings, (5 if needed  :laughing7:)
I was set on  a jackson for my first proper decent guitar, partly due to the amount of awesome finishes they offer/ used to offer even on non custom shop models.
However when i turned to bass, the options werent there, and i lost interest, Kinda Blows, :tard:

But great purchase!

I'm not that familiar with these guitars. Is that the standard factory control setup, or did someone add the knob that I assume is bridge volume right next to the trem arm socket? It looks like horrible placement since the trem arm would obstruct the knob and the knob obstructs the blade switch.

Regardless, a nice looking guitar. Not my style at all, but cool nonetheless.

That's the way they came from the factory. There's a whole page of them here you can look at.

Yep, looks like that was a conscious decision by someone at fender/jackson. Saw several other control layouts that made more sense, though. But I guess with as little real estate as that body style offers, if you want that many knobs and switches they're gonna be in the way of each other a little bit.

Contrary to how it looks, I haven't had a single issue with accidentally hitting a knob or a switch...not a single time.

It was a great score, but I"m not sure I"m going to fall in love with this one.  My "dream Jackson" is a USA Select Series Warrior.

The reasons for the purchase were because of its condition, as you can clearly see, is nearly very nearly flawless, and the price was more than right, given its condition.  I figured I'd bond with it, but it's just not happening.  I love the neck, and love the V body-style, but I'm really just not a fan of playing Vs.

From a "looks" perspective, I love this thing, but from a "playing" perspective, that's another story entirely.  The problem is, we don't buy guitars to look at, right?
