Short scale basses? Show me!

I need some inspiration.  Since there is so little out there in the marketplace in the high-quality non-boutique-price area, I'm thinking Warmoth may be my best bet.

Did you build your bass yourself?  Was it difficult?

These are all 32" shorties. I have played these out and they sound great. They are both active with 3 band EQ. I assembled them myself and then had the nut work and action adjusted by my guy. The fourth pic is of my 32" shortie lined fretless. It is a passive bass, but really sounds good as well.
They all have Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups in them that I ordered from Warmoth.
