Short Scale Bass Bridge Relocation

Hi All!

I'm considering buying a short scale Warmoth neck for my Bass and I'm trying to determine which size I can make work (30" or 32" scale). I know I will have to relocate the bridge which is OK but I am limited in how much I can move it because of the bridge pickup. I'm wondering if there is a general rule of the dimension from the bottom of the neck pocket to the bridge so I can determine roughly how much I will have to move the bridge with each different scale length?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

If you are using both a Warmoth neck and body, either length neck will work, and there is no need to relocate the bridge.

If the OP is intending to put a short scale neck on their existing long scale body, note that as well as the different heel to bridge dimension, the heel/pocket dimensions are quite different.

Have a look at Warmoth's info here.
