:hello2: The wait is over!!! Went to Fairfax, Virginia to pickup my Gecko Medium 5 from my luthier, Larry Smoak at Wooden Wizard Guitars! No words can express how this monster sounds and how it is set up!! Larry did the most amazing job building it for me and David Schwab at SGD Luthiers handmade my pickups!! This thing is a BEAST!!!! SO here are the specs:
Gecko 5 Medium
Swamp Ash Body/ Transparent Blue
Wenge/Ebony neck and fretboard
SGD ND3 pickups (passive)
6150 frets
Neck and fretboard was lightly sanded and coated with Pld English Lemon oil
Abalone Truss Road cover and many more goodies!!

Oh man. Feel free to bring her over! In all seriousness, though, that thing is gorgeous. I've been entertaining the Gecko vs Jazz Bass for some time now. Seeing that blue kinda makes me want a Gecko! "Kinda" meaning must have.

EDIT: I weep for the long drive I would have to make to play it. Even from my Uncles house it's near 6 hours! I can't believe you drove that long and far. You must really love your bass!

Well, I wanted it done right and would not settle for anything less and Larry was my only choice!  Go ahead and order you one!! You wont be disappointed!! TRUST ME! Larry and I are going to do me a Jazz Bass 5 string deluxe and the paint scheme is going to be unreal! It's mine and Larrys version of Caribbean Burst!! Im getting ready to spec out the order and get the body and neck built. It will be a swamp ash as well with a maple/indian rosewood neck, but Larry is installing abalone block inlays and all other type goodies! It will be about an 8 month ordeal!!

I am debating about entering it in the August GOM competition. There is really nothing spectacular about it, but I will say the trans blue on this thing is SUHWEET!!!! :blob7:
