***EDIT 8/6/11*** I replaced the old version of the video with the new one. Btw, I sang, played guitar, bass, did the mixing, and even did the artwork. Thanks for checking it out.

Hey, everybody! I'd appreciate it if you'd check out my band's pages and hit either that subscribe or like button.

I figured since you're all as crazy about guitar as I am that you'll like our guitar heavy style.

Everything was recording on my Warmoth Strat.

Here's a clip of the first song on our album, "The End of an Era."

Let me know what you think!

My honest opinion
Love the striped down tone on the opening riff, I think I would have nailed it by playing it twice before the band came in.
song has great drive and a classic progression, the lyist is showing off a unique style
the solo lost me, has no place in that song. needs to be more melodic to it, that solo disagrees with the song by overriding the melody of the song and that riff used for the melodic bass is a great riff.
besides that, great song.

The song is ok, but the recording sounds like karaoke. The vocals are too raw and up-front by a mile. The whole recording is funny that way with uneven levels and curious EQ. Whoever mixed that down needs to be punished. Also, I'm with Mr. Tele - that guitar solo is wildly out of place. I mean, there should probably be a solo there, just not that one. It sounds like it's been pasted in from an entirely different song. But, overall, the tune is worth keeping.

Well here's my 2 cents, I think overall it sounds great, I love the vocals, that's Jim Morrison right there to a T.

As far as the Solo, it's fine but a bit too over driven, if it was cleaned up EVH style it would fit perfect, but it's not as bad as Cagey and Justatele say it is.

As far as mixing and EQ, it reminds me of the way early aerosmith was mixed, the Vocals are out front where they should be with a good vocalist, and the rest of the band is there for support.

It would sound great with just a few minor tweaks, and again, that singer is awesome, I'm an instant huge fan, gotta hear more, the rest of the band is just like the Doors, good, but we came to see jim.

anybody else onboard with a positive response?

i agree with most of what's been said. I thought this sounded more like The Misfits than The Doors.  I kinda get what you're going for with the solo, but the gain needs to be dialed back and i think overall it needs to a be a bit louder or just with a different tone. On my speakers, that solo was barely standing out in the mix at all.

I thought solo was all right, but again, too much gain; but that might be a reaction to the lack of gain in indie, I don't know.

I just meant for this to give everybody and idea of how we sound. I'm in the process of remixing everything, and yes in the new version I've changed the solo.

Thanks for the positive response! I'm the singer for the band as well.

That was really cool, love the singing. The players felt a bit out of sync in the beginning but that got better. I wasn't all that bothered about the solo, apart from not liking wha's, ever, in any context.
The deranged sing-along to the riff at the end was great!

I liked that a lot. The chuggy, fuzzed-out riff and vocals remind me of Danzig's solo stuff more than anything else, and that's a good thing in my book. Contrary to everyone else, I even liked the solo--I think the ugly noises fit the song quite well. Good stuff!  :headbang:

OH wow, I didn't know you were singing that, and playen the lead, well I love you on both parts, keep it up
