I'm stumped :dontknow: as to which way to go with a neck, for a SG body finished in a solid colour.
I've gone to the LP Warmoth Pro Angled Neck Builder … Did a Raw and Painted one.
Both using these same spec's.
IE: Nut, Ebony Unique Fretboard Choice, SS Frets, Inlays of choice.
1) Using Maple Neck wood (with above) completely finished in the solid colour to match the body.
2) Using Wenge Neck wood (with above)
Price difference is $15 …. the Painted one is the dearer one. (big deal) :laughing7:
The painted one would look great, just like photoguys one.
Ebony with a Black nut on the painted neck almost looks like it has binding on it.
That was my original thought on this build.
But it was my idea for that Alpine White Strat I just did too.
So …. I'm leaning towards the RAW neck.
Just nicer to play on :guitarplayer2:
I know Wenge is pretty dark (that's ok, I do have one here) but I've also seen some
that has the lighter look with lots of grain.
Think if I could get a lighter grainy looking Wenge, that would blend in a lot better with a solid colour.
Suppose I just ask for that … :dontknow:
Which way would you go ? …… Painted or RAW ?
Anyone got some Wenge LP pic's ? ... Back only thanks
Cheers :icon_biggrin:
Pic of a lighter, grainier one.
