Seems like a cool product. Thoughts?

Surely you dont speak of the "robo" LP?  Which, besides being a falling apart commercial failure, does not have the same type gizmo.  I'm sure before long some big-shot like Ewok Craptun will say its all gaga, and the masses will wonder how we ever played guitar at all before then.

I dunno, if your guitar is set up right and have decent tuners, keeping in tune isn't really that hard. Seems gimmicky to me.

I'm talking about the LP up in the LP section of this site.  I was just too lazy to go and grab the link.

seems ratehr cool, however it sems to only tune to whole notes and i play Eb... so i'd be boned

it's chromatic - - if you look closely there are # (sharp) and b (flat) symbols on the tuner thingy...

I dont mean to be counterproductive,
but i am not into the idea of having any kind of electronic device other than a preamp on a guitar...
it just gives me a cheap vibe, and its the same thing as when people put these crappy built in stompboxes on their guitars.

I also think that that thing looks hideous with anything other than a stratocaster or bell type knob.
(for example, a chrome dome knob would look totally ridiculous)

just my $.02

My Veillette 12-sting has an onboard tuner, and it's fairly useful. On 6-strings, I don't know. I doubt if I would use it much, if at all.

I'd love to have an onboard tuner but I'd want something that only I can see, like acoustics have on the upper bout.

Saw this in a UK guitar magazine and was really intrested as I thought it would be good to use on stage, then on a recent trip over to the U.S I saw one in the flesh and it wasn't for me, it didn't look right in my eyes also I wasn't really up for having to route a battery space. Some will love this item but it wasn't for me. I'll stick with my Boss TU2.

i got it on my warmoth LP (in the showcase also)
very useful and very accurate, really easy to get alternate tunings in a blink of an eye

just my 2 cents :)

Manny Charleston from Nazereth played a Robot LP the last time he was here in Green Bay. That's my irritation with Gibson--they won't put the nice chubby necks on things anymore, and Henry Juszkiewicz will sell you basically the same guitar ten different ways. One time, I just wish that I could still buy a Les Paul Deluxe or one with a pair of P90s on it.

So wait up here, which kind of tuner is it? Is it like the Roland tuner thingy in the new fender strats where it doesn't actually tune it, or the LP robo LP tuner which does tune it?

Or are they the same thing and i've been misinformed?

it doesn't tune it
just tells you what note it is, and if it's sharp/flat
just like a normal tuner
