Finally assembled, the Steve Harris split-coil arrived yesterday. I was a little sad to find that the packing mat'l (foam) SD put in the box was substandard; the thing really got rattled around in shipment and I opened it to find the signature pickup cover quite scratched/marred. -Oh, well... I was thinking of putting cream 'covers and knobs on this sucka once I got it out of the box and laid eyes on the seafoam anyway, so...

Here's pics of the completed project that started here:

What a sweet bass ! The cover is cool , it's probably gonna take some wear real soon anyway , now RUN TO THE HILLS !

Thanks! -I dunno, though... this wider neck/frets thing is gonna take some getting used to! This neck may end up on the '54 (-it's the "right" headstock for it, after all) sooner than later, but either way, a keeper for sure!

The Steve Harris is a great sounding pickup! Dunno how to describe it; fat and punchy, but controlled and definitely not muddy. -Worth checking out, if in the market for a split-coil pickup, in my opinion.
