I need the code for seafoam green so that I can take it to a local auto shop to have it mixed. I tried the 2461 but he can't seem to work with that code.  I would order it from bill at reranch but I hate the smell of nitro. Plus I'm going to have a friend who paints cars do this one . Any help is appreciated

You could try this:

" Foam Green

    Lacquer Source(s): DuPont 2253L.
    Low VOC Source(s): DuPont 2253K.
A 1956 Buick color. The original nitrocellulose paint formula wasn't translated to acrylic lacquer till 1996. Before the original Foam Green again became available from DuPont, PPG provided a lacquer offset that was an excellent match, Ppg #DDL44652. "

found it guys. thanks for the help but after the price quotes Im thinking im going to just go with reranch or some duplicolor in a different shade. $95 for 8oz of color, the reducer and a quart of clear.

When I was looking for finish for my L5S, I wanted "British Racing Green" for the top. "Cadillac Green" would have also worked. But, trying to get someone to mix it up in lacquer turned out to be much more expensive than I expected. In the end, I realized I wasn't trying to match an existing finish. This wasn't a repair; it was a new finish. Didn't have to match perfectly. So, I mixed it myself.

I'm fairly confident that if I told anybody it was "British Racing Green" or "Cadillac Green", they wouldn't argue with me. You wouldn't dare use it to repair a fender bender on an old MG or Coupé De Ville, but when viewed in isolation, it appears to be the right color.

You could do the same with the Seafoam Green. Close counts, when there's no reference.

thanks cagey. thats very true about no one would know when there is nothing to reference it to. I was going the auto route because i didnt have a spray rig but a friend of mine did.  I have tried the preval sprayers and I hate them due to the cone spray. I am at the point of either just dying it myself. ( autumn burst...amber in middle fading out to reddish orange) or reranching it.

Excuse the thread necrophilia necromancy, but this has the scanned 'color codes'
