Strat body with swamp ash body and satin dark candy red finish. Roasted high grade flame maple neck. Both from the recent Screamin' Deals. I think I will build this with black hardwares. I will update as things come together.
Oiled the neck today. Photo cannot capture how spectacular it actually looks. You can see a little of the flames here, but there are a lot more and when you hold it against light you see them flicker and shimmer.
Got some times today to put the wires in. For some reason the hot (black) wires would fray when inserted and didn't want to go in easily, and the one from neck was missing a few strands. But I got it set up, passed the screwdriver tap test and no buzz or static even at highest volume. When split, it will pick up from upper (north?) half of each pickup.
The JB/Jazz rails have really triggered my GAS lately, although the videos on YouTube that A/B the original SH-4 and JB Rails make the original sound better.
