rwrp middle pros and cons

I don't think it does anything to tone

One single pup non-humbucking acts like an antenna catching any stray noise from the environment, 2 such pups will double the effect ( ok maybe not double but adds too it) so if you can prevent or minimize that by reverse winding the middle, why not.

RWRP does affect the tone. Because it's humbucking when combined with other pickups it does do a little bit of filtering and therefor some frequencies are slightly less. The affect is small.

Personally I like non RWRP better. I think the tone is a little more "syrupy" without the humbucking. There is really no more noise there than with just one pickup on. While you are playing it is even harder to hear any noise you may be picking up. I know it helps in some situations but for me the noise adds to the ambiance. I love hearing recordings where you can hear the buzz of amp such, very organic.

It is only RWRP when compared to another pickup.  You could load a guitar with 3 RWRP pickups, they would hum in every position.

Tonally it is no different when by itself.  I can't think of any cons, unless you want positions 2 and 4 to hum.

Your absolutely right. By themselves there is no difference.

However if you live south of the equator you should have them all RWRP. :laughing7:

RWRP is totally a personal preference.

I live in Australia and foolishy once tried playing a guitar with a non reverse wound middle pickup.  Needless to say the guitar imploded, ripping a hole in space and time and nearly destroying most of the universe.  Luckily i had my space and time hole reversal spray handy.  A lesson learnt.
