Rush to quit touring

I can respect them making that decision.

I was fortunate to see them several times over the years starting in the double neck and Kimono days.

Well I guess we have to post a video.

I took my boys to see the R40 tour, knowing that it would probably be their last. I was really pleased that they enjoyed the show and it's pretty cool to be able to share something like that with them.

Of course, the downside is that they get to say stuff like 'Damn Dad, you ARE old!'

That's true, you go somewhere and see all these older guys and then realise you maybe are one of them sort of. But not quite perhaps  :cool01:

I'm not surprised, especially at Neal. All three of those guys are in their early 60's. Touring or even just playing in a band is a helluva lotta work even if you're in top form.

I wish I could have seen them live...
The closest I came to seeing them, is touching a DW R40 snare signed by Neal, playing a Gibson Alex Lifeson signature guitar, and touching a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass signed by him..
I've always loved them and they will be legends forever.  :guitaristgif:

Understandable that eventually the day would come. I know that at least Alex has grand kids and he was always a real family oriented guy anyway. Rush has fought the good fight about some meaning and integrity so they can bow out with swords in hand and full honors. I got to see them in Spokane during the Hemisphere's tour. For those of us there who loved the music it was quite something.

Saw them live at UNO Lakefront Arena in the mid 90's!  You never saw so many "air" drummers in one building lol.

They  had a good long go at it. I wouldn't call it a rush to quit touring if it took 42 years to wind it up.
<baddabump> (or since we're talking about Rush, I should make that <badadadadumpdumpdumpdumpbatdadadadadaadudmbumpbump>

And at least as of Aug 2015, Alex was saying they're not  done, they're just done doing LONG tours.
