Rolling edges on finished maple fingerboard?

I'm planning a build with a Warmoth quartersawn maple neck and fingerboard, with the clear satin nitro finish.

On my prior build, I went with an ebony board, the fingerboard edges felt rather sharp, and I gently scraped and sanded the edges to get a slight rolled edge.

With the finished maple board, scraping the wood seems like a big no-no. Has anyone hand-rolled fingerboard edges using a different method, for a urethane-finished board? I'm wondering if using the shaft of a screwdriver (rolled firmly across the edges) might still have an effect, without damaging the finish. Of course I could buy an unfinished neck, roll it myself, then finish it myself, but I don't trust myself to apply a finish as well as Warmoth here!

You're going to crack/ruin the finish. If you don't want to do the finish yourself, why not try out Musikraft?

I never roll edges of fingerboards.

Once I’ve done all leveling/crowning/polishing, I then rub the fingerboard up and down at the same angle of bevel when I micromesh polish up my dressed fret ends, starting from 1500 grit up through 9 stages of grit up to 12000. So basically, I polish each fret entirely, then the end 9 times, once in each grit. The fingerboard is a collateral benefactor in this process.

This polishes the hot dog ends of my frets and basically burnishes the fingerboard edge, providing a more natural feeling worn in vibe.

Scraping the edge of the fingerboard seems to me to open yourself up to potential fret end scratching, and the effect on the fingerboard seems too invasive and less gracious looking/feeling.
