So I was on the warmoth site poking around, and lo and behold this was there:

It was exactly what I specified as my ideal roasted maple neck on the other thread - tele, 22 frets, 1 11/16, boatneck, black dots...

So I bought it.

I'm GASing for a roasted Maple neck, now.

I'm thinking roasted Maple with a black Ebony fretboard, no face inlay, MOP side dots, SS frets, and a Graphtech nut. Slap it on a solid finished Strat or Soloist body, and make an '80s shred machine. Simple and classy.

I'm thinking roasted Maple with a black Ebony fretboard, no face inlay, MOP side dots, SS frets, and a Graphtech nut. Slap it on a solid finished Strat or Soloist body, and make an '80s shred machine. Simple and classy.

I want the exact same thing! Warhead, though.

But, I already have a spare inlay-free black Ebony over Afra neck in the closet just rotting. Should probably use that before I buy anything else. Still... roasted Maple... what could possibly be wrong with that? Burnish it up... Mmmm...

Damn. What if it's a limited availability deal and I miss out? I would be extra-pist if that happened.

I would not say that it smells like maple syrup.  Rather it's more like that smell when you're boiling up a batch and some spills over the side into the fire.  That is, like burnt maple syrup.  Not objectionable at all mind you...
