Is anybody familiar with the wiring color code on Roadhouse humbuckers? It comes out as red/green/white/black/ground like a SD, but I don't know which wires are which.

I found the diagram I used to wire my buddies Ibanez in the way that they are wired, and I have: Black +, White -, Red +, Green -, coil one and two respectively.

Hmm... Ok. That's the way I wired it. Gonna have to tear it apart and see if I didn't inadvertently short a winding.

I am not sure about it really, pretty sure, but you know how that goes.  I don't have the code, or an email with the code listed in it, just the diagram I scrawled out to do the Ibanez wiring.  It works as it should on his guitar, so I am pretty sure of it.  He said he'd send me anything he has, but he is not home at the moment.

Cagey,
I have been catching up to a flood of emails. I did get one recently for a color code request. You?(I just checked I received two.. one was from you. Sorry about that it's been crazy this week.)

Code is:
Green = Ground screw side
Red    = Hot screw side
Black  = Ground slug side
White = Hot slug side

Put red and black together for humbucker. Green is start and white is hot/finish.

Please do not take it apart. If broken for some reason just send it back and I will fix it. It won't be easy to take apart without damaging it.

You have a warranty. Don't be afraid to use it! Even if you think you broke it don't worry about it. As long as it doesn't look like it got ran over by a car.  :laughing7:
Also checking I noticed you got that back in February. The warranty for workmanship is lifetime. I know you haven't installed it until just now so please feel free to have me check it / fix it.

You can always call me as well. Number is here: http://roadhousepickups.com/RH_Contact.html

Patrick, I began using a different code some time ago. I switched to this code because it made more sense to me. Black and white just like a single coil and Green and Red with green being the natural ground color with red a natural hot/positive color. So the one in Nicks may mirror the SD wiring. Even if someone wired it exactly backwards, it would work fine.

It sounded like it should so I wasn't worried.  I like using the AC power, black for hot and white for neutral.  It is AC, right?  :)  Thanks for the clarification, I am pretty sure that I did it correctly.  Worst case, I'll be able to mess around with Nick's gear.

Thanks! I've got it wired wrong. I'll fix it and let you know how it works out.

Seems like a wiring page on the website might be handy...

It might seem bold, obnoxious or pushy depending on the destination but you'd get an "A" for effort if you send the code to Stew-Mac, Seymour Duncan, Project Guitar:
http://www.projectguitar.com/
Guitar Electronics:
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/
and anybody else who lists a "comprehensive" PU-decoder wiring dictionary as one of their perks. Since to a larger or lesser degree they're all pretty much pimpin' PU's* as part of their existence, their willingness to list a competitor's PU's code could be seen as a Cool-O-Meter, or at least a ConfidenceInCompetitiveCapitalismAsAWayOfLife-O-Meter.

*(Pimpin' Pu's... have you though up a theme song for your business yet? "I'm pimpin my Pee Youze ... cause dey be PUMPIN PEE YOUZE... etc. Hmmm. Better not.)

Yep, I do need to put one up. And I agree that a comprehensive list of all codes goes a long way to help folks get their projects together.
