Has anyone else checked these out? I have played 6 or 7 of them since they showed up in stores. They were 'cute' in my mind and played nicely. My local store got one in that blew my mind and I bought it. Smoothest neck I have ever played, huge tone, lightweight tight grained Alder(swear I keep looking to see if it is actually veneer). I am not sure if I got a rare gem or there are going to be some sweet guitars from these first runs.

I thought they were "cute" also.  I haven't played one, but I've picked them up and gave them a good looking over.  The price has me uneasy.  They're cheaper than the relic series because they're MIM, but because of the extra manhours involved producing the finish, they're as much or more than an American Standard.

I've not seen one in person, and hence have not picked one up or played it, but I saw a pic of about a dozen of them lined up, and the first thing that crossed my mind was just how similar the relic job was on each and every one of them.  It was a little scary.

Are these guitars just regular MIM instruments with relic'd feautures?
A MIM standard Strat will you you $400, so is this just that same $400 instrument relic'd?

I don't feel comfortable with ANY guitar or bass that costs over a thousand if its not american made.

Why does everyone think its cool to have a relic'd guitar? A worn out guitar is about character, you have been thru so many gigs with it that its beaten to hell. Its rich with your own history and the story off all the years of you playing on it.
To put all the marks and wear and such on a new guitar defeats the point. You are just making a nice guitar into a piece of crap.
If you want a worn out looking guitar, do it the old fashioned way, PLAY the damn thing!

Nitro finish body, 6105 frets are the highlights. Relic'd guitars are made to 'feel' worn in, maybe moreso than look worn in. Let's also not forget, they LOOK worn but they are NEW. Having leaped that hurdle, the one I got is an absolutely amazing Tele. Boutique guitars have about as much appeal to me as Relic guitars do, I am not picky. I will play a guitar at KMart to see how it sounds/feels, would I buy a hot pink guitar that sounds amazing? Probably not... hehe.
