As someone who works in the industry, where visuals mean everything, and sound is always the last link in the chain, I truly appreciate that someone like Ray made people realise that what they were hearing was as, if not more, important that what they were seeing.

That's too bad. Although, it may be a mercy. Alzheimer's has to be one of the most cruel diseases known to man. Probably especially so for someone so gifted. Pain is one thing, and no one should have to suffer it, but losing your mind? That's gotta suck harder than vacuum.

I work in the industry too and I agree with you. Unfortunately the masses will never understand the magic of sound, most people want to see than hear. So many invest in the latest 100 inches last model TV but they listen compressed files through crappy headphones. It's ironic that past generations were investing in stereo systems and now most people are listening to music either in the car or through their phones.
