A master song writer, and the king of economy guitar playing.

I'll never forget his interview with Guitar Player where he was laughing about his funky old guitar that some young fella named Peter Frampton offered him a bunch of money for. He kept the guitar.

I always liked JJ Cale.  He did a lot of covers, but he always added a real feeling to other peoples songs.
