I was lucky enough to see him play about 30 years ago. He was the headline billing with Jerry Lee Lewis scheduled to be the opening act. Apparently Jerry Lee did not like being the opening act and refused to come on stage. This stalled the show for a bit and then Fats just said the hell with it and rolled his grand piano out on stage and started pounding. He started out on the far left part of the stage. He would play a few riffs and then stand-up and bounce the piano off his belly. By the end of the first song, Fats had bounced his piano from the far left of stage all the way to the far right of stage. He for sure put Jerry Lee to shame.
