If you don't know Alex Chilton or his band Big Star, do yourself the favor and check them out. I for one thought you were one hell of a songwriter.

Damn, I just found out he died when I read this post.
I will always remember when The Replacements "discovered" Alex back in the 1980's and sparked his return to music. I saw him perform in 1987, I think, in a cafeteria at Yale University in New Haven.
I hope Alex can rest in peace. I spent many an awkward teenage night driving around listening to his music. September Girls is definitely in my top 25 list of all time favorite songs.
