Resonari Tone Block - yet another fancy tone block

Just saw an ad for this in MMR Magazine.  Not sure what to think of it.  Seems like a complicated solution.....

http://www.resonari.com/index.html

Looks like a good way to separate the masses from some dough... it may do something like what's advertised, but anyone who shows up with a miracle cure has a pretty rough job convincing me that the cure is worth the cost.

$100 bucks plus shipping for a chunk of machined brass is a headscratcher for me -but then, I'm notoriously cheap, and until I ordered my Warmoth goods recently, had never paid more than about $550 for an entire guitar.

From the hype page...

What is a "Live" Tone Block? The Resonari is actually two blocks separated by a spring section. One section moves back and fourth ane the other resonates up and down with the bridge producing much improved bridge action.

So, we're to believe that a couple milligrams of string action is going to bounce around a half pound or more of brass under 100+ lbs. of tension? I suspect mean ol' Mr. Inertia might have something to say about that. Something along the lines of "Haaahahahahaaa!"

If you believe that, you might believe that putting a spring section between the turret and the body of an M1A1 Abrams tank would make it possible for the whole thing reverberate when a bee accidentally bounces off it while tracking down the road at 35mph.

What the hell did we just hit? A bee? Sure it wasn't a June bug? Sounded like a mortar, fer crissakes!

I like this one:

Renonari™ Fat Floyd®
The Renonari™ Fat Floyd® is designed to fit a Floyd Rose® Style bridge. It gives massive tone enhancement to the
blues scale up and down the fret board. If you play blues thru a vintage amp this is the block for you.

What it should say in that last sentence:

If you play blues thru a vintage amp, what the f^&k are you doing with a floyd rose-equipped guitar?*

*Disclaimer: If you do happen to play blues through a vintage amp with a floyd, more power to ya. Just don't really see it in my circles.

I say if your are going to do a shoot out it should be done using a vintage block, a Callaham block and a DeTemple Titanium block to compare it to. It sounds good but how does it stack up against the real competition?

I wonder what happens if you don't play blues scales, or don't play them up and down the neck? Worse still, what if you don't play a "vintage" amp? Do the black helicopters show up? Does your recording contract get cancelled? Does your herpes flare up?

Wel lthe "resonari" should have tipped me off - these are foreign bridges.... trying to mate with my pure clean American Fender, are you? But seriously, they need to up their game on the spelling - the dumb ones are just dumb, but how's this for a motto?

"It's like turning a piano into a grand paino!"

Frankly, that doesn't sound to swell to me - a grand paino is what I usually try to avoid, when dicking with my guitar.  :icon_scratch:

With the live feature the bridge is free to resonate for increased duration an amplitude.

Well actually NO Senior Doodleshetts - when you saw solid things apart then re-connect them with springs, you talkin' the big MUFFLE effect. Why do I even... well, no. That's all. No.
