Hello, I had posted a question in 'General Discussion' Perhaps that was the wrong place.
Please forgive poor English. Thank you.
I once had a 1957 Stratocaster that was stolen from me.
I am going to make a Strat because I miss the was it felt in my hands.
It will have either alder (most likely) or ash body s/s/s and ( ithink) maple/maple neck/fingerboard
It was trem but my big 13s strings would untune it
would a 'hardtail' be better? If a 'hardtail' is best which one will give space betwween strings like my old
guitar. Any suggestions would be good. Thank You.

Did you have a "hard" v-neck on that?

You could go a hardtail, but if you put all springs on the tremolo and bolt it down hard it shouldn't go anywhere...

I recieved that guitar in 1992, it was well-loved and broken by 35 years of playing by my father.
I am not sure how hard is "hard" as i have not had a chance to play another of the same year.
but it is harder than the "v" shapes Fender is releasing that i have tried.
