Removing velcro adhesive from pedals

I've retired my planet waves tuner from my pedal board.  (The clip on tc poly tune is the shit.)  This thing has a big rubber foot.  This foot was not only ripped off when I tried to remove the pedal but it holds on to the velcro adhesive with amazing tenacity. After much work I've removed it from all the flat surfaces.

Any idea how to dissolve this adhesive without dissolving the rubber (or rubberlike) foot?

Those are usually gum-based adhesives so mineral spirits or Naphtha are usually kind to the painted finishes, rubber and plastic they're applied to. Naphtha is especially good to keep around as it leaves no residue. It's like the duct tape of solvents. Works for a surprisingly wide variety of things and rarely has unwanted side effects.

When you remove a Velcroed pedal off of a board use something to seperate the Velcro. Pry it apart. Use a credit card or something similar.

Naptha worked great.  I honestly have no idea why I bought naptha in the first place.  What exactly is it traditionally used for?

Naptha=Lighter Fluid. (Traditional lighter fluid that is, think Ronsonol.)

Usually used in woodworking to clean up and de-grease before finishing, thin paint, very versatile stuff. Does a great job on gummed up fret boards.
