Removing String Ferrules for Refinish

I'd like to remove the ferrules from the back of a mahogany tele body. They're the raised type (it's a W body), but I have no idea how to go about removing them. I guess I could refinish around them, but I'd like to do a better job than that. As always, thanks in advance.

I've done it with an allen wrench and a fretting hammer on an alder Fender Tele.  Use the biggest one you can fit through the hole from the top so it doesn't punch through the hole in the ferrule.

Edit: I forgot to mention a key point of info.  Two of mine were a bit stubborn, so I used the soldering iron trick to loosen the finish before punching it out.

Very Easy! Use either a needle nose pliers or better yet, a pair of wire cutters, and grab the raised lip and just pull out. Don't squeeze too hard, and you wont put any marks in the ferrule.
