Its not global warming, its called... (listen up lefties) "summer".  Time for baseball, sex outside, short pants, and, most of all, guitar finishing.

This is a sneak from under the radar... at something I've wanted to do for a bit.  I ended up doing black then brown filler, and am using some sanding sealer - to my amazement it ambered over the last six months in a factory closed can.  Hmmm.  Either way, its fine.  The final finish is gonna be a "white blonde" (aka Mary Kaye),  I'll let this sit up a week and go over it again with 320 grit, then give it another seal coat.  Better get off my rump and order the ReRanch stuff too.

Neck is birdseye - not museum quality - even better!  Its WARMOTH quality!~  Nice eyes on top, that look like flame on the sides.  Very appealing.  Its gonna get light tinted clear (not the Fender amber).  Pickups... BB#1 and some hot Fralin Tele bridge.  All else pretty much "as it was" in 72.  I may add a Bixby... dunno.  We'll see.

Look at d'way they bookmatched the body pieces tho.  Makes you think them feller's up in Pullyawhallop know a dadburn thing about geetar making.

listen up lefties. :icon_scratch:

Anyway, nice barndoor look CB. A Mary Kaye with a bigsby would be superb. :headbang:

We're heading into winter down here in Oz. :sad:

Leftist alarmist radio....they're already into.... "can you feel it getting warmer out... its global warming... today its going to be 85F...".  Anything to cause a stir.  Not like the fine folks here!~ :hello2:

Wasn't really lookin for barndoor look, but now that you mention it..... I just wanted the grain to stick out a bit so the mary kaye could have some character....like I used to have before it was killed off.  :toothy11:

I had a 72 that was white blonde.. gonna go for that once more

Aah..that kind of lefty.. :sign13:

Barndoor = Mary Kaye's underwear!  :icon_jokercolor:

I'm thinking....

The 72 I had was opaque at the edges, and a just a hint translucent on the top and back.  I suppose I'm gonna have to experiment with the color a bit.

Anyone do this already?

well... I broke down... and have gone the super glue route.

I'm sorry folks, some of those grain streaks are DEEP.  Three fills and they're still failing the fingernail test.  With a Mary K, it wont make much difference (so long as the CA has gassed off fully)
