Has anybody set up a new Bass with the new Ray Ross Bridge? If so how is it? :bass:

I too hadn't heard about this brand or seen this bridge and had to look it up.
And I agree that it looks really cool.
But I was surprised as well over the fact that this bridge actually lets the winding of the ballend, the part that's always behind the saddle, be part of the vibrating string.
I wonder how that affects the sound? Surely that winding acts as something that would dampen the vibrations, no? Any bass players out there who can shed some light on this?

I am having a Warmoth made and spec'ed the bridge holes so I could add one of these if I decided I couldn't do without one.
You can bet your bottom dollar that they would not have gone thru the manufacturing process unless they did a LOT of testing and homework.

That is quite an unusual looking bridge. Not sure if it would be something for me but if it works and the aesthetic appeals to the user then why not.
