Quick question for the experts :)

Hey guys,

Since the G*bson news had come out, I decided to order an LP body from the showcase.  Looks great overall, usuall Warmoth quality. :)

I have one question, though.  Mine seems to have a super thin (like 1 or 2mm) laminate veneer over the 3/4" top (see 1st pic).  I'm sure it's very hard to see in the pic, but trust me, it's there (look in the pickup cavities. In person you can definitely see the difference in wood grain and a very distinctive line).  When did Warmoth start doing this?  I thought all of their carved flame tops were 3/4" thick, like in the specifics below. See second pic of another members full 3/4" maple top.  Why the difference?

I know this won't affect the tone...yadda yadda yadda, but honestly, I'm kind of off-put by it.  Is this normal, or should I talk to Warmoth about it? Admittedly, it doesn't really tweak me that much, but I thought I was buying something else, ya know what I mean?

Warmoth specs:
The Low Down:
Long 25½” Scale Length (Strat® scale)
¾” Thick Bookmatched Tops
4-bolt Strat® compatible neck pocket
Solid or Chambered Construction
Contoured Heel
Pickup and Bridge Routing Options

Double laminate construction is most common in the quilt tops where 3/4" pieces are incredibly scarce.  The DL build method was introduced a couple years ago.

Ok, gotcha.  Thanks for the quick reply :)

I still love the thing, either way.  It's gonna be a great project  :glasses10:

If you wanna be sure its solid look in the control cavity to s3e if the figuring matches the top.
