Quick change pickup housing thingymabob

I saw that video. Smart idea. But I didn't get any link to any Kickstarter page back then ...  :icon_scratch:

But after checking it now, it looks like they've updated their site. Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to start on the 19:th: http://pratley.co/collections/p-link-pickup-interchange-system

I admit their solution is more elegant than my own. But then, I don't have to slack the strings....  Also, my pickup mule has WAY more sparkles....

Seriously though, that is sleek. I use this guitar when I'm dialing in a pickup recipe or exploring a variable, as a way of comparing different things or evaluating the consistency of doing the same things. If that contraption were on the market when I did it I'd have probably used it. Might still as I've been contemplating another mule for some different configurations...

Extremely cool!

Reminds me of a Gibson Les Paul we got from the supplier to the shop where I worked, built specifically for changing pickups so that customers could try different models.

The old becomes new again.

Dan Armstrong was doing this back in the '60s.

His pickups were unique to the guitar and I think he only came up with 3 or 4, but the concept was there. Never did catch on, though. Plus, the guitar weighed about 3,295 lbs. because of the Lucite body material.
