Questions for a lightweight Soloist

Hi folks!!
Long story short, I have arthrosis problems. My fretting hand and shoulder get bat during long gigs so I need a light guitar to get going. My main axe is a music man silhouette special that is really comfortable but she's at 8lbs. In my searching, I found that I can get a Suhr Modern satin at 6.5lbs or lower. But before putting the price they ask for this guitar, I want to give a fair try to Warmoth.

The idea is to build a Soloist with an all roasted unfinished maple neck. I'm looking for the lightest wood between a light black korina body or a light roasted swamp ash body (both with a black burst satin finish). I'm sure that both combo will look and sound awesome. I just need to be sure to pick the lightest wood.

What do you guys think??

Well, go to the Warmoth showcase for soloists and sort by weight?  I see some bodies under 3 pounds.

I'm really digging the grain on this roasted swamp ash bad boy, which weighs in at 2 lb 11 oz.

I believe that one of these two woods are the lighter one generally (I don't know which, but I'm guessing roasted swamp ash), but if you order one, you might still get a heavier piece. There will always be individual pieces that differs from the norm.
So I would suggest that you call or mail Warmoth and tell them what you want, and that you want a light specimen. They can then get that for you, but I believe it will come with a price.
Or - you could look at the showcase where there's always several light weight bodies to be found. This must be one of the lightest bodies I've seen - and it's a Soloist.

I was thinking the same thing, but then I noticed that the bodies seem to differ slightly.  :icon_scratch:

Thanks for the replies! Those bodies look great! I forgot to mention that i'm a lefty player hehe. I didn't think checking the right handed stock hehe. I will email them and ask there is an upcharge for asking a light piece!

The Velocity can get even lighter, I see there's one listed at 2.2 lbs right now.  I wasn't too crazy about the looks when it first came out, but it eventually grew on me.  I ended up buying one and it's the most comfortable guitar I've ever played in 40+ years.  I now have 2 of them and will probably buy every one that ends up in the screamin' deals section.
