QUESTION on single coils vs. humbuckers

Here's one for ya!  I've been pondering what type of pickups for my new tele (noiseless vs. traditional), and I was wondering - does the 60-cycle (or whatever) "hum" prevalent on single coils STOP humming when one plays, or is it just not noticeable because the string output is much higher than the hum?

from my experience, it keeps humming.  You cant hear it through notes, but you will pickup it up if you are doing a lot of quick cut off notes like you find in a song like Unsung with a good amount of gain.

keeps humming but you usually cant notice it - unless you're just barely playing... real quiet, then yuo notice it again
