Question on mounting pickups

I bought a set of Seymour Duncan active P/J pickups to replace a cheaper set on a bass that I have, and I have to ask: Mounting hardware, where do you get it?

While there were eight screws, that was it. I reused the cushioning under the J pickup, and that's fine, but the P pickups are thinner than the previous set, so that's not working out. Do you just use the cheap packing foam in the box and cut it down to size? Or is there something I can run out to home depot or the equivalent and buy that works well?

And at a $160 for a set of pickups, I'm kinda surprised that they didn't include it.

Depends what you mean by "cheap packing foam from the box". If you're talking about the dark gray stuff that comes in the polystyrene Seymour Duncan box that holds the pickup in place in its retail packaging, then I've used that to good effect a number of times.

Yup, that was the stuff I was talking about.

Oddly the quarter pounders I bought for the P-bass build DID have foam bars to put under the pickups. (went and looked after I remembered having them).
