Question about string spacing Gibson Vs. Fender Mexican?

Okay, someone please help me here. I am wondering which spacing is narrower, the Gibson spacing, or the Fender Mexican Standard  string spacing , which is 2 and 1/16th. Thanks

what? The Fender Mexican  Standard spacing is 2 and 1/16th's. Your confusing me. Im  a mental midget in math, and I do not need to be confused!

Standard TOM spacing is 2 and 1/16" as well.  That can change a bit if you notch your own saddles and the polepieces warrant it though.

He means nut width.  IIRC modern Fenders are a 1.6" so are a little in between.  1 and 5/8" was pre 1962.
