I just received my new Roasted Maple and Rosewood vintage modern neck and I think I have a problem. It's an adjust at the headstock design but appears to also have the empty hole for the heel adjust. It's almost as if they drilled it for a heel adjust then changed their mind. Can anyone tell me anything about this or did I get a bum neck from warmoth? If this is how it's supposed to be it's ridiculous. If it's a mistake I can't understand how it made it all the way to finish without anyone noticing it but I suppose it's possible??? Please don't tell me that's how they make them...

It's an index hole. That's how Vintage/Modern necks are made.

Sorry, but yea - that's how they make them.  It's an index hole for the CNC machine for the Vintage/Modern necks.  Other necks (Vintage or Pro) don't have it.

Index hole!

That would be excellent, but RFID doesn't work that way. It's what they call "Near Field" communications, which means you have to be damn near right on top of it for it to work. More than a foot or two away and you're out of business.

Well, if that don't just spit in my biscuit dough... :dontknow:

Weird. I don't recall any of the Vintage Modern necks I've handled having that. (Though admittedly it's been a couple of years since I last looked at the heel of one.)
