a question for anyone who has used bill lawrence/wilde pickups Q-filters. i am experimenting with tone controls on my guitar with Q-filters. i dont seem to like the notch type circuit and a traditional tone control at the same time, infact i can do without the traditional tone all together and i have a strat with two knobs and would like to use them, i found that i like different arrangements or resistors in the circuit for different things but i haven't tried the circuit with no capacitor at all, the cap keeps bass frequencies and the Q-filter keeps high frequencies the resistor determines how much bass the cap can keep..
forgive me for my above info not being linear, i have a funky way of thinking, my question is has anyone used a q-filter with no cap just a resistor in series with the inductor? is it useable? i have two versions of what my final circuit might look like and one will allow me to have the no cap option but i want to be the last time i open the thing for a while and if the sound isn't all that usable i dont want it.
