Problems?  Yes/no?  The guitar will have locking tuners and a hardtail.  I just have an old birdseye maple/maple neck with no home and a body on the way~

Not to my knowledge. There was one on my Kramer Maple Board neck when I picked it up as part of a "complete guitar". Was lightly glued on and worked fine on the guitar as the guy had it set up.

You can also pick up a conversion nut (Floyd to Standard) from Warmoth/Stew Mac that screws on just like a standard Floyd nut. Saves the headaches. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact name of the item.  :occasion14:

I bought an older Warmoth ash body from metalman22105 that's routed for two humbuckers, a two point trem, a Gibson style three way switch and a volume knob, which is how I'd like to have a strat set up.  I was looking at buying a new neck from Warmoth, but I remembered that I had this one in a closet.  I'm not sure what the neck profile is, but it's thicker than standard thin.  It's a really pretty birdseye/birdseye.

The whole guitar is going to be fun for me, because it'll be my first time finishing one myself.  I'm going to have to strip off (I'm guessing) the old spray-on poly that I'd used originally.  The neck was a temporary fix to a backup guitar for being on the road, and since then it has sat in my closet for a decade.

I'm undecided about how to finish the body, but two things are sure:  it will be transparent (either Gibson red or deep blue... or green... or who knows?) and I will be experimenting with water transfers.  In the future, I want to build a bass with a lot of text on it, so this will be my trial run.

Yes Sir...good deal on that body for sure. Sounds like a fun project too. What kind of neck is it that you had stashed away in the closet??? :)

I'm in the same boat, as I'm doing my own finish on a one piece ash body for my current project as well. Coat...after coat...after coat...of Tung Oil. Tedious process...but enjoyable and will be one I'll be proud of just for the fact I'm doing it myself...if I ever get it done!

Thus far...it's gone from this...
