We had a show on  TV in Australia a few years back that pioneered gardening shows in prime time, called "Burke's Backyard".

Don Burke, the host, is a very respected horticulturist who approaches gardening with a very down-to-earth attitude.

He did a segment on that plant (dunno it's name), and was giggling all the way through the segment. Apparently when it blooms like that it''s ready for procreation and the gardening people have to, er, yeah you guessed it  :doh:  :laughing7: , to get the pollenation off the stem!! All throughout the segment it was often said it stunk to high heaven. It's not often this plant will bloom like that and it is a once-in-a-blue-moon type of event.

LOL, I didn't mean to make that a joke!  :tard:  :doh:

I meant: he is very practical and speaks without the airs and graces that you find sometimes with folks who know a subject very well. For the average guy...
