That kid sounds terrible!  :tard:
Interesting to hear Fade to Black on an accordion though.

It's an alto sax, and no i have never played a sax in my life but im gonna add it to my daily practice routine!

I'm doing music at college for guitar so no chance of my quitting that any time soon!! Lets just say its an ambition of mine to play a few instruments well enough to perform them, looking forward to the challenge!

It should have a floyd! wanna hear those dive bombs on sax...  :toothy12: :toothy12:

That's a beginner model alto, and it's a bit like a toy store electric guitar (though more expensive and shinier).  If you ever stick with it enough to figure out what sucks about the starter models, talk to me about which are amazing models for what reasons, and I can help you find a deal.  I've played for over 20 years and have my starter alto (they're not useless), a super action 80 alto, a C melody horn, a Mark VI Bari and a King Bari.  The one I spent the most on was the starter horn... there are deals everywhere on great used horns.

p.s.  My younger brother is also a player, and he taught at WWU.  We're saxophone nerds.

@ozziepete

the gloves are magical and can turn a total noob into a diehard jazz musician by putting them on, or it could backfire and make me look like a fat micheal jackson who cant dance.

Yeah sorry if I was a little OTT with the humour..I can be an idiot at times...I wish you well in learning the sax. I learnt the clarinet for a year but found I was getting too many mouth ulcers to continue. Tried everything to avoid them but for some reason playing the clarinet brought them on. Same also happened when I tried to play a harmonica ten years later. Dunno why..

your right about those ulcers like, just played it for about 2 hours, managed to play a Bb Major scale...kinda, my intonation on the first and last note is aweful. But i find myself biteing through my bottom lip, definately gonna have some uclers there tomorrow.

Already broke a reed. haha!

Welcome to the show.  You'll feel like you're going to bite through your lip, but it's ok, I promise.  It will all get better with time spent, and make sure you're spending some every day!
